Our Story
Hi, my name is Jake. My mushroom journey started back in college while I was working on my horticulture degree (yes, I was the one nerding out over plants while everyone else was partying). During my final year, I randomly entered a giveaway from a YouTube channel I followed and somehow, I won. The prize? An internship in British Columbia with a gourmet mushroom farmer who also happened to be a bit of a fungi-celebrity.
The trip was wild, in the best way possible. I soaked up so much knowledge (and maybe a little rain, it’s B.C., after all), and it totally lit a fire in me. I came back knowing without a doubt that I wanted to grow gourmet mushrooms.
Since then, I’ve been hustling to turn that dream into reality. Fast forward to today, and I get a huge kick out of sharing insanely delicious mushrooms with chefs and home cooks alike. It’s been a journey full of spores, sweat, and shiitakes, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
